Unity Care Implements Cutting-Edge Electronic Health Records System to Increase Efficiency and Effectiveness

In the agency’s ongoing pursuit to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of its youth and family programs, Unity Care Group, Inc. is excited to announce the implementation of its new electronic record keeping system, Efforts to Outcomes, dubbed “ETO”.

The software upgrade is a major and significant financial investment, which will allow Unity Care to move away from a cumbersome, paper-based information storage system. The goal is to ultimately boost overall performance by enabling staff to easily track service delivery and outcomes.  ETO will give the organization and its community partners the ability to easily and clearly see key programmatic efforts that have the greatest impact on the social issues they strive to address. Additionally, the new system will centralize client related data, create easy access to pull and report client information across programs, improve coordination of care, and allow the agency to more easily report successes to key stakeholders.

“I believe that this software upgrade is an investment that will provide Unity Care the technology and infrastructure needed to support our continued and anticipated growth. It has always been a challenge for us to track and measure outcomes through a variety of spreadsheets,” said André Chapman, President and CEO of Unity Care Group. “Prior to using ETO software, we used a variety of hodgepodge database softwares and Excel spreadsheets to analyze our overall effectiveness. With our new ETO software, we will be able to easily and efficiently generate real-time data reports giving us the ability to make strategic and tactical decisions in the moment.”

For over 17 years, Unity Care has provided shelter, innovative behavioral health, educational and family support services to improve the physical, mental and emotional well-being of underserved youth and families. Today, the organization offers 17 programs serving over 2,500 youth and families in Santa Clara, Monterey and Placer Counties annually.

“We firmly believe that using the new ETO software will enhance our services by giving us immediate feedback…,” added Chapman. “We will also be able to demonstrate the effectiveness of our programs to our funders, who want to know that their support is making a real difference in people’s lives.”
