Thanksgiving Feast for Foster Youth November 18th

Unity Care and the San Jose Links, Inc. Partner to Share Dinner, Lift Spirits

(San Jose, Calif.) Unity Care (www.unitycare.org), youth and family development agency providing services and support for foster and underserved youth, will hold its annual Thanksgiving Feast on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.  The dinner, hosted by the San Jose Chapter of The Links, Inc., will take place at the Unity Care offices, 1400 Parkmoor Avenue, Cupertino-B Room, in San Jose, Calif.

Unity Care and the Links will provide a home-cooked turkey dinner with all the trimmings to foster youth living in Unity Care’s residential treatment homes and emancipated foster youth participating in the organization’s transitional housing programs.

“The holiday season is often a time of particular loneliness for youth who are without family,” says Unity Care founder and CEO, André V. Chapman. “We hope that enjoying a delicious homemade Thanksgiving dinner in the company of their Unity Care family and caring community volunteers will lift their spirits. We want to help them begin the holidays without dread, but with a positive outlook and let them know we are here for them.”

About Unity Care: Unity Care offers a wide range of services benefiting at-risk and foster youth and their families throughout Northern California. Its signature program, established in 1993, focuses on serving the housing needs of youth in foster care and beyond. The organization’s mission has grown and expanded over the past two decades and, today, includes more than  two dozen community-based, education and behavioral health programs, aiding approximately 7,500 underserved youth and families annually.
