What We DoServicesCommunity-Based Services Resource and Advocacy Support Services

Resource and Advocacy Support Services

The primary purpose of the Resource and Advocacy Support Services Program is the development of a Resource Family Support Team (RFST) for each resource family served.

The RFST provides support and resources to county licensed foster and adoptive parents (resource families) and is available to assist resource families with any questions, concerns or guidance. The team also works as a liaison with county assessment staff and social workers.

The Resource Family Support Team’s goal is to stabilize and maintain children in their foster and adoptive homes by:

  • Identifying the family’s needs;
  • Providing support and resources; and
  • Promoting the child’s stabilization.

The program seeks to provide the following benefits for the children of the families served:

  • Safe, secure and loving environments;
  • Improved well-being; and
  • Maintenance of lifetime relationships.
