What We Do Our Philosophy

Our Philosophy

The mission we have undertaken together at Unity Care is to provide an environment, which is responsive to the needs of each person within that environment. Each of us is working toward that goal. Not one of us can reach the goal alone. As adults, our tasks focus on understanding each other as individuals and working together for the benefit of each child and family in our care.

The organization was established in 1992 in Santa Clara County, California, and opened its first youth residential treatment home on August 14th 1993. For nearly two decades UCG has developed the organizational capacity, experience, recognition in the community, and financial support to effectively and efficiently deliver supportive services to youth and families involved in the Child Welfare, Mental Health, and Juvenile Justice System.  With a multicultural diverse staff base of 170+ employees, UCG serves approximately 3,500 youth and families annually in a variety of culturally proficient residential, mental health and community based programs with a staff base comprised of 38% Latino, 28% African-American, and 25% Caucasian, and 9% Asian/Pacific Islander.
