Unity Care Academy

Unity Care Academy (UCA) is a 501(c)3 Non-public school certified by the State of California, which provides services to underserved, special needs students grades 7-12 who possess an IEP (Individual Education Plan). UCA strives to work with students to bring them to their current academic level and back to their district of residence high school for graduation if deemed appropriate by the IEP team.It is UCA’s vision to promote and encourage students so that they will be ready to enter college or vocational programs, assuring them a more productive role in society.UCA:

• creates a flexible schedule and modifies content to meet a student’s special needs

• enhances students’ learning skills through the diversity of their educational experiences

• utilizes state approved textbooks and modifies curriculum to meet a student’s special needs

• emphasizes the importance of graduating from High School and College Prep

• works closely with the District of Residence to insure the best possible educational goals and objectives

• provides GED assistance to insure graduation if a student would be unable to complete adequate units within a given period of time

UCA also provides:

• Full-court gymnasium

• Computer lab

• Electives: cooking, art, guitar and music (Hip Hop 360)

• Speech therapy

• Guidance counseling

• Community outings

• Transportation, as needed and requested
