Unity Care Training Center

The Unity Care Group's mission is to provide quality youth programs for the purpose of creating healthier communities through life-long partnerships.

Through the Unity Care Training Center, we are able to share that mission with the community. In 1999, a regulation was passed by Community Care Licensing, the state agency responsible for setting group home training requirements, requiring all staff of residential homes to maintain 20 hours of training annually. The agency has authorized Unity Care to provide the following training curriculum:

• Behavior Problem / Psychological Disorder – Facility Program Statement and Philosophy (7-hour course)
• Cultural Diversity / Teamwork & Communication with the client and Family Members (4-hour course)
• Boundaries -- Child Care Workers Job Description (4-hour course)
• Wraparound -- Overview/Introduction & Engagement/Skill Building (21-hour course)
• Group Home Recreation -- Incorporate recreation into the Group Home program (3-hour course)
• Team Building (6.5-hour course)
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention Coming in 2007
• Facility Program Statement and Philosophy Coming in 2007
