Residential-Care Homes Our Group Home Program is a successful, dynamic residential care program licensed by the State of California. The goal of this program is to provide a safe and secure living environment for at-risk youth in need of emotional support. The youth served in this program range in age from 8 to 18 years. The residents are dependent, delinquent and/or gang-affiliated, but are capable of functioning in an open community setting. The homes offer an atmosphere of love, warmth and understanding. Full-time counselors provide positive role models, adult guidance and consistent standards of discipline. All our residents participate in the Youth After-school Leadership Program, and some also participate in the Independent Living Program. Our on-site clinical services team, made up of social work professionals, offers group, family and individual therapy to each resident every week. Through these programs and many others, Unity Care strives to provide the security and support necessary for positive youth development. In San Jose we currently operate seven residential homes classified as Level 11 programs. Each of the five homes is licensed to treat six boys, aged 12-18 and each of the other two homes are licensed to treat six girls aged 12-17. Our Monterey County campus has two residential homes classified as Level 14 programs. The short-term Emergency Crisis Shelter and Sub-acute Psychiatric Program are licensed to treat six male or female children, ages 6-17. Both houses meet all Community Care Licensing requirements of the California Department of Social Services. At the Monterey campus, residential services are integrated with our Intensive Day Treatment program, as well as an Alternative Education School, to provide on-going care and development.
