The NIA Project

"To use our collective gifts and talents to build and develop our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness."

Many families in Santa Clara County are struggling to meet basic needs. The high cost of food, rent, transportation, utility bills and raising children can be very stressful for many people.

We partner with the Department of Family and Children's Services (DFCS), who refer families to the program. Families receive free culturally competent assistance and resources.

The Nia Project aims to help and strengthen African American families. The program utilizes African American staff to assist families in crisis, advocate for the family, provide access to parenting education, connect families to African American and other community resources, provide counseling as needed, etc.
