Unity Care is looking for bright college interns to assist the Development Department with marketing, special events, social media, graphic design, grant writing and research.

Time Commitment:
We require a 6 to 10 month commitment (12-20 hours per week) from all students.

Grant Writer/Researcher Intern

Managing Supervisor: Grant Writer

Length: 6 months – One year

Department: Development

Salary: Non-Paid Internship

 

The Grant Writer/Researcher intern will learn how the grant proposal process works, the difference between proposals

to foundations and government entities, how to determine suitability of funding opportunities and what’s involved in

building a responsive proposal.

 

Qualifications: Working towards a bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or any field that requires strong writing skills. Candidate must have strong writing skills, be detail-oriented, a self-starter and have some online research experience. Must have some knowledge with Microsoft Word and Excel and be available to work 12-20 hours per week.


Events Intern

Managing Supervisor: Development Associate, Communications

Length: 6 months – One year

Department: Development

Salary: Non-Paid Internship

 

The Events intern will support the Development Department by assisting with the planning and execution of agency events, such as our YouthLive! gala event in May, and our 20th Anniversary celebration in August. Candidate will assist with research, in-kind donation solicitation requests and other projects as needed.

 

Qualifications: Working towards a degree in Hospitality and Event Management. Candidate must have strong verbal and written skills, be detail-oriented, a self-starter and some experience planning events. Must be available to work 12-20 hours per week.


Marketing/Communications Intern

Managing Supervisor: Development Associate, Communications

Length: 6 months – One year

Department: Development

Salary: Non-Paid Internship

 

The Marketing/Communications intern will assist with writing articles for the agency’s marketing materials such as newsletters, brochures, success stories and the annual report. In addition, the intern will assist in the development of marketing collateral, social media updates, data entry, hosting information booths and other projects as needed.

 

Qualifications: Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Journalism. Candidate must have strong verbal and written skills and be able to work in a fast -paced environment and meet deadlines. Writing samples required. Intermediate/advanced skills with MS Office Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite 5 is a plus. Must be available to work 12-20 hours per week.
