Clinical Campus Director (Prunedale)
Date: March 2008 Responsible for managing staff and ensuring delivery of a full range of mental health services for
adolescents at our campus site. The ideal candidate will assume hands-on operational and clinical supervision
for Intensive Clinical Services, Non Public School and Residential. Lead a collaborative case management process
which assesses plans, implements, coordinates, monitors and evaluates options and services to meet client needs
through communication and available resources. Participate in long and short range corporate planning for the ongoing
development of services and builds strong community partners to establish positive representation in the county. Oversee
all mental health contracts and mental health development programs. Develop a strong team environment
where staff thrives to produce quality outcomes toward client satisfaction.
Qualifications:Master’s Degree in a behavioral science or equivalent and four years of full-time employment
as a mental health professional or social worker in an agency serving children in a group home or residential setting.
Clinical background – California Mental Health License preferred plus two years minimum experience developing and overseeing
program development and management of clinical settings dealing with adolescents in a Non Public School and Residential
setting. You must have reliable means of transportation.
Instructional Assistant (Prundale)
Date: June 2008 Under teacher supervision, provides classroom supervision and support to the students of the Unity Care Academy (UCA).
Responsible for ongoing, daily management of the school to keep in ordinance with State of California, non-public schools
requirements: meal planning and preparation, keeping the classroom, school and van clean and orderly, supervising homework
that is the responsibility of the student, and transportation of the student. Maintains daily logs on each student and keeps
additional records such as school assignments, school behavioral reports/progress reports, emergency medical information and
incident reports. Participate as a team member in the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEP). Has knowledge
of and is able to implement emergency procedures in the event of crisis situations.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required, minimum of 2 years experience working with at-risk youth or adolescent
children in a student setting preferred but not required. You must have current First Aid/CPR Certification, proven ability
to work well independently in high stress environments. You must have reliable means of transportation.
Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) (Prunedale)
Date: June 2008 Serve in a therapeutic role helping youth with behavioral struggles in both the school classroom and in their place
of residence as part of the Intensive Clinical Services component. Complete Medi-Cal billing paperwork for all billable services
in a timely manner. Develop group-related activities such as therapeutic recreation, adjunctive therapy, psycho-educational, art
therapy, process groups, skill building, and community outings to be facilitated either in the school classroom for Unity Care
Academy students or in the residential program (for residential youth). Utilize physical restraint techniques, in accordance
with restraint training, in order to keep youth/staff safe in the event that a youth poses a physical danger to self/others.
Available to work a weekday and weekend shifts is essential.
Qualifications: Must be able to qualify as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) according to the Medi-Cal
requirements (Master’s degree plus 2 years mental health experience, Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years mental health experience or
Associate’s degree plus 6 years mental health experience). Must be able to be certified by the Monterey County Behavioral Health
Services Department as an MHRS. Carry a current First Aid/CPR Certification. You must have reliable means of transportation.
Social Worker – Therapist for Level 14 Residential Program (Prunedale)
Date: June 2008 The Social Worker – Therapist is responsible for the on-going management of six clients and their families. The Social Worker -
Therapist is involved with referrals, intakes, discharges, and managing the youth’s residential program, Also interfaces with and
consults with the other departments on campus – Residential, TBS, UCA, and Wrap, as well as with our Community Partners –
County Social Workers, Mental Health Workers, and Psychiatrists. Write Intake Assessment, discharge summary, and treatment notes.
Conduct group therapy, one-on-one therapy, as well as family therapy for residential clients and family. Monitor all medical and
psychiatric issues affecting the safety and well being of the client. Participate in 24-hour-on-call coverage as needed.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Social Work or Marriage Family Counseling. Carry a License with the BBS or the ability
to obtain internship from BBS within 90 days. At least one year experience working in a residential program with emotionally disturbed
children. Bilingual preferred. You must have reliable means of transportation.
Payroll – Human Resource Administrator (San Jose)
Date: April 2008 The Payroll – HR Administrator is responsible for all administrative aspects of the full cycle Payroll function accordance with
the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsible for setup, processing, and distribution of employee payroll, and
payroll adjustments in a highly accurate and timely manner. Maintain accurate tracking of paid time off, floating holiday and
vacation schedules. Process enrollment and status change forms in a timely manner, including health insurance, retirement, new hires,
promotions, transfers, and terminations. Maintain accurate tracking of paid time off. Provides required administrative support for
annual company audits and CCL audits. Preparing, review of, and correcting W-2’s, 1099’s, Form 941, Form DE-3 or 8. Administer
company’s benefit plans (Benetrac) including, termination check processing and COBRA. Handles all annual benefits and 401K open
enrollment processes.
Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree in Economics, Accounting or Finance or equivelent. Minimum of four
years payroll or related experience preferable using ADP payroll, Reportsmith writer, BeneTrac and EZ Labor time gathering system
and related accounting within a service or non-profit organization. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
You must have reliable means of transportation.
Learning and Development Training Specialist (San Jose)
Date: May 2008 The Learning and Development Training Specialist is responsible for creation, facilitation and implementation of agency wide
training curriculum and organizational development initiatives that provide practical solutions to the organization’s needs. The
qualified training practitioner will: identify organizational gaps, development and training needs; plan, organize, develop and
implement and deliver training and OD solutions for the agency; constantly assess the effectiveness and ROI of all training programs.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Psychology or related field. Include; 4+ years related experience in training
& organizational development. Well-versed in best practices and principles of training and OD. Experience in planning, developing,
organizing, supporting and facilitating a broad range of training and OD initiatives and programs. You must have reliable means of
transportation.
Group Home Residential Counselor (San Jose/Prunedale)
Date: June 2008 This position provides 100% child supervision in a Residential setting. Preparing meals for the youth, driving the youth to and
from doctor appointments, therapy sessions, school, workshops, and extra curricular activities. Partnering with Social Workers,
Therapist, Therapeutic Behavioral Service Coaches and county representatives. Requires excellent judgment, organization skills,
basic computer knowledge, and familiarity with incident reports (IR’S). Responsibilities also include: Life skills counseling,
specifically teaching residents to acquire socially acceptable habits of behavior and appearance; assisting with homework tutoring,
helping them develop improved interpersonal relationships; using appropriate authority and discipline as necessary to set limits for
behavior; helping residents develop their own capacity for self- control.
Qualifications: Minimum 2 years experience working with at-risk youth or adolescent children in a residential setting
preferred but not required. 60 college units from an accredited institution preferred. Must have reliable means of transportation,
Must have valid drivers license and meet the State of California minimum insurance and licensing requirements dictated by the State
and the insurance carrier of Unity Care. Must be 21 or older. Must have record clear of any felonies or misdemeanors.
Therapeutic Behavioral Services Clinician (Salinas)
Date: June 2008
The TBS Clinician, under the supervision of the Wraparound/TBS CPM, and in collaboration with the primary mental health provider,
coordinates the development and implementation of TBS Service Plans. The clinician provides both direct and indirect services to
children and their families in order to maximize the involvement of all persons in the implementation of the plans and to maintain the
child at the lowest appropriate level of care. Facilitates the integration and coordination of services with internal Unity Care Group,
Inc referring programs, and external agencies. Provides leadership in the Functional Behavior Assessment and development, implementation,
and evaluation of individualized TBS Service Plans. Monitors and supports the provision of strength-based support by constantly reevaluating
and restructuring individual plans as needed, ensuring that families have access to resources, and maintaining effective relationships with
Family Team members.
Qualifications: M.A., license eligible, waiverable status. Two or more years of direct practice experience working with emotionally
disturbed children, adolescents, and families. Proven experience in interpersonal relationship, facilitation, and service management skills.
Demonstrated experience in the development of Behavioral Plans through the use of the Functional Assessment process. Proven experience in engaging
parents as partners and working successfully with families from diverse ethnic and cultural groups. Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
Parent Partner (Salinas)
Date: July 2008
The purpose of this position is to provide active, hands-on peer support to parents/caregivers of youth receiving services. Effective peer
support should be friendly, helpful, accessible and flexible. Peer support may be delivered in individual or group settings at the agency,
in family homes or in community environments. The role of the Parent Partner is to provide peer support but also to work collaboratively
to support systems change by increasing family involvement and decreasing unintentional bias about parents.
Qualifications:
Must be the biological, adoptive, kin parent, or non-related family member of a youth with emotional or behavioral challenges. Must have
direct experiences with child serving systems (i.e. mental health, child welfare, probation and special education). It is optimal for the
Parent Partner to have experienced the level of care with their youth equivalent to program assignment. Must have life experience as the
parent of a youth with emotional or behavioral challenges. Education in the area of social services is optimal but not necessary.
Demonstrates an ability to maintain a non-judgmental attitude towards families.
Level 12 Residential Counselor (San Jose)
Date: July 2008
Under the direction of the Facility Manager, and the following established procedures, provides support to the therapeutic
environment/setting and treatment of all residents. As part of the treatment team, job performance contributes to the short and long term
goals for residents in the Residential Program. Performance of the typical responsibilities and duties requires the ability to perform the
job duties, supervision of residents, and communicates with others involving job-related matters generally of limited to moderate complexity.
Teach residents to acquire socially acceptable habits of behavior and appearance and to develop improved interpersonal relationships.
Assists with day-to-day operations of the house and care of residents to keep in ordinance with Community Care Licensing requirements
(i.e. meal planning, house upkeep/Maintenance, showers, supervising resident chores, scheduled morning, afternoon, and evening routines,
medical appointments, school-runs, focus/educational groups, yard and van cleanliness and transportation of the resident, etc.) Dispenses
medication and initiates documentation according to policy/procedures.
Qualifications:
2 years experience preferred, working with at-risk youth or adolescent children in a residential setting preferred but not required 60
completed college units from an accredited institution preferred. Prefer experience with basic skills in crisis interventions, suicidal
assessment, conflict resolution and interpersonal communication. Basic knowledge of childcare practice with SED children (i.e. Special
Education, Group Home, or Probation/Juvenile Hall) in either day treatment or residential care.
